The Miracle of Preaching
Part Three

In one of Israel’s darkest hours God called a preacher, Ezekiel, to prophesy (preach).
His assignment went something like this: in the spirit he was set down in the midst of a valley which was full of bones… he saw “very many” in the open valley. They were very dry.

“and the Lord said to him, son of man, can these bones live? And I answered…. O Lord God … thou knowest. The Lord spoke to me and said, prophesy upon these bones (preach to these bones) (Ezekiel 37:3-4)

Preach to them… prophesy… say, “bones … you dry bones … all you dry bones…hear the word of the Lord!

Tell those bones … that I will cause breath to enter into you and ye shall live.

Tell those bones … that I will put flesh and skin on them … and breath in them … and life will return to them …. And when all of this happens you are going to know that I am the Lord.

So I prophesied as I was commanded …and as I prophesied …
There was a noise…
and behold a shaking …
and the bones came together …
bone to his bone …

And then the flesh … and then the skin … but no breath yet.
Which is scarier? – skeletons – dry bones – that you can tell by looking at them that they are dead … or bodies with flesh and skin that almost look alive … but are still dead?

So the Lord spoke again and told me to prophesy unto the wind.
Preach to the wind … say “come on wind” … “come on breath”.

Come from the four winds … come from all directions … Come from any direction.

Breathe upon these that are dead … that they may live.

Note: it’s one thing to preach to “what”, or “who” you can see with your natural eyesight;
but to preach to the invisible … preach to the wind … requires more faith!

watch this …. Here comes “The Miracle of Preaching”

So; I prophesied as I was commanded. I preached to the wind!
I preached to the invisible … I prophesied to the invisible …to the wind
(which I believe is symbolic of the Spirit of God)

Sure enough; the breath came into them and they lived! They stood up on their feet
and became an exceeding great army.

And the Lord spoke again to the preacher; these that were dead…
those dead dry bones … had no hope … they were cut off from the land of the living …

But I wanted to let them know that I am the Lord God!
So how would I demonstrate My power and sovereign “say so” ?
How would I demonstrate My willingness to bring the dead back to life?
How would I display My resurrection power?
How would I convince mankind that I have the power over every situation that is without hope,
without an answer, without a solution, without life?

The Lord has chosen preaching …. Prophesying …. Preach truth! … preach Jesus!
Jesus commanded … go preach!
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to everybody
When you do … there will be signs that accompany preaching.
And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. (Mark 16)

This is “The Miracle Of Preaching”!

We must never lose our faith in that which God has ordained us to do … that is preach.
We must never lose our faith in the God Who has called us to preach … He will confirm His Word!
He will stand behind the preachers who speaks what is commanded them.

Wherever you preach,
whenever you preach,
to whomever you preach … believe in … “The Miracle of Preaching”!

When you preach to those who are dead in their sins and trespasses; you can expect God to raise them up.
You can expect the wind, the Holy Spirit, to come into them.
You can expect God to resurrect them from the destruction of sin.
You can expect God to make them “new creatures” in Him.
You can expect God to bring them out of the pit and bondage of sin.
You can expect God to break the chains that hold them captive.

When you preach the Word and prophesy to the “wind”,
when you preach the Word and prophesy to the “wind”,
you can expect the Light of God to penetrate the darkness of evil!

When you preach the Word and prophesy to the “wind”, you can expect the hopeless to find hope!

When you preach “in the Spirit” …
you can expect the sinner to repent, be baptized in His Name and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost!

When you preach with the anointing of God upon you;
you can expect those who were dead in sins and trespasses to come out of the graves of addiction and bondage!

You can expect the “Lazarus” situations … that which is dead…dead…dead…stinking dead;
to come out of the grave of despair and hopelessness!

You can expect that which is bound to be loosed!

Preach … prophesy … to the dead dry bones in the valley…

Preach … prophesy … to the Spirit of God … with faith that says …
“These bones are going to live … because the Lord is God … and He is able”.

Preacher … God is going to stand behind His Word.

“it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe”
I Corinthians. 1:21

“go ye into all the world and preach the gospel”…to everybody.
“and they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word with signs following”
(Mark 16:15, 20)

The Apostle Paul said it this way:
“my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in the demonstration of the Spirit and of power ….

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God”
(I Corinthians. 2:4-5)
This is The Miracle Of Preaching

“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” Ephesians 3:20

His promise is to provide and to accomplish His Will when His Word is spoken.

When we preach; let’s not talk about what we can or cannot do…
let’s preach about what He can do!

This is “The Miracle Of Preaching”

Now… go preach…

Now … go prophesy.

Prayer:
Lord, give all that preach: confidence to go everywhere with gospel, boldness to preach the word of faith and certainty about their mission.

We’re asking you Lord for: renewing of the “dunamis” power of your Spirit, wisdom from above to be able to speak a word in season to those who are weary,

We ask for skills, giftedness, and influence, balance of spirituality and doctrine… so we may preach with anointing and with clarity.

We ask for an understanding of the great privilege and the great responsibility that we have as your messengers.

We ask for revelation of that which you have prepared for us, illumination… that we may see with eyes of faith, inspiration… breathe on us again, empower us, commission us anew and may we fulfill Your will.
