“Therefore”

“THEREFORE, IF ANY MAN BE IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATURE: OLD THINGS ARE PASSED AWAY; BEHOLD, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW.” II CORINTHIANS 5:17

“Therefore” indicates to us that something was said before that would make what is about to be said meaningful. “Therefore” is an adverb that means: consequently, as a result of, thus, for that reason, etc.

The Apostle Paul states that the “newness”, the reconciliation, the opportunity for man to be in “union” and “agreement” with God has been given through Jesus Christ. Because of the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; “therefore”, because of that, by those means, consequently…. a man can be “in Christ”.

When one believes and is born again “old things” have passed away. Nothing in your past can hold you there… You are a new creature. Thank God for this “release” from our past!

We can live without condemnation, guilt or shame because of the grace of God.
