It All Happened in “Church” One Day – Part Two

Luke 13:10-13 KJV
And He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And He laid His hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

The Lord still looks over those who come to worship services (church). “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.
(II Chronicles 16:9)

Jesus looked over the crowd and He saw a woman. A woman who had come to worship. A woman who had come to hear the Word of the Lord. She had continued to attend “church” even when it was difficult to move and walk. Even though she had a hard time, physically, to look up; she “looked up” spiritually. She had maintained a hope as she “looked up” to God. She hoped for help from God. She awaited an opportunity to receive from God her miracle.

She had been in bad shape for a long time…yet she had faith. All the ceremonial laws and religious ordinances of the “church” couldn’t help her. She needed Jesus to touch her. It all happened in church one day. Just another service.

Notice who initiated this miracle. Jesus called for her. Before she called He answered. However; before He called her, she showed up. Her faith, hope, and consistency to worship, pray, hear scripture taught, etc. kept her faithful to attend the house of God. May I encourage someone today. Even though we have weaknesses in mind, body, or spirit… Let’s be faithful to attend the house of God. It remains beneficial to us to be faithful to the house of God no matter what difficulty, trial or trouble we are enduring.

Remember; this woman came to “scripture study”. She came to be taught. During the course of His teaching. (Luke 13:10 – “ and He was teaching in one of the synagogues”). While He was teaching He saw her and provided a miracle healing. We should never underestimate the power of the Word of God being taught and the demonstration of the Spirit that accompanies teaching and preaching. It was “just another church service”.

Jesus said, “ woman thou are loosed”. Her deliverance was instant and complete. Deliverance and healing can be instantaneous for anyone. It doesn’t’ matter if one has been “bowed down” in a situation, circumstance, dysfunction, infirmity, bondage, or under a heavy load for 18 minutes, 18 days, 18 weeks, 18 months, or 18 years … Jesus can touch and deliver in a miracle of mercy in one moment.

Remember; it was just another church service. One just like the other hundreds she had attended in her afflicted state.
Be faithful. Keep believing… It All Happened in “Church” One Day.
