it may be night… but morning is coming

It’s not whether or not a “night” is coming; each of us will go through a “night” season.

It is important how we make it through.

Psalm 30:1-5

I will praise You, O Lord; for You have lifted me up, and have not made my foes to rejoice over me.

2 O Lord my God, I cried unto You, and You have healed me.

3 O Lord, You have brought up my soul from the grave: You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.

5 For His anger endures but a moment; in His favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Here’s five “reasons” why the children of faith ought to rejoice.

  • V1 “You have lifted me up” … Anyone glad that He is the Lifter of you head?

Anybody glad that He lifted you up? Lifted you out? And saved you from

your enemies and things that almost destroyed you?  Anybody glad for

the victory?

  • V2 “You have healed me” …  Anybody glad that He healed you?  He healed

your body… He healed your broken heart.

  • V3 “You have brought up my soul from the grave: You have kept me alive”

Anybody glad that you are saved? Rescued? Sanctified? Justified?

I once was lost, but now I’m found!

  • V4 “give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness” … what does this mean?

It simply means that we ought to give thanks because there ain’t nobody like Him!

Ain’t nobody could have done for us what He has already done!

Ain’t nobody can do for us what we need done today!

  • V5 “weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”

What are we calling a “night”?  It may be a time of suffering, trouble, or trial.  It may be a time when the darkness of worry and misery have quenched your joy. Happiness and joy have been blocked by the darkness of despair, depression, and distress.

Right now, as you read this, you may be in a “night” season.  Here comes some good news!

We cannot control the “night”; but we can manage what we do in the “night”.

We cannot control when the “night” comes and we cannot control when we’re

coming out of the “night”.  However, we can control what we do and how we

behave when we’re in the “night”.

In the “night” season we may have to cry sometimes… but we still walk in faith.

In the “night” season there may be weeping; yet we believe our steps are ordered in His Word.

In the “night” season weeping may endure; but joy is coming in the “morning”!

The same God that brought you through before… He’s going to do it again!  Even though you may not be able to see that He is working … He works the “night” shift as well as the day shift.

So hold on until the morning comes.  Just a few more prayers… your “morning” is coming.

Your God is Faithful!

He hears your cry!

Your answer is already on the way!

Take hope in the promises of God.

The Word of God holds true.

It may be a “night” of despair… joy is coming in the morning!

It may be a “night” of inner turmoil… joy is coming in the morning!

It may be a “night” of confusion…joy is coming in the morning!

It may be a “night” of disappointment… joy is coming in the morning!

It may be a “night” of emptiness… joy is coming in the morning!

It may be a “night” when you feel all alone… you’re not…and joy is coming in the morning!

Remember this; our Lord still speaks in the “night” seasons of our lives.

If you are in a “night” season right now, listen carefully. Keep your faith in Him.

“weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”.

When we come through a “night” season we will be wiser, stronger, and better.

So go ahead and give Him some praise right now!
