“Quiet Time Needs To Be Over” – Part 2

He (Jesus) entered into Capernaum after some days; it was noised that He (Jesus) was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door; and He preached the word unto them.  Mark 2:1-2

It was noised that Jesus was in the house.  Somebody got the word out … Jesus is in the house.  Somebody told somebody else … Jesus is in the house.  Of all the methods and strategies of evangelism; the best is still “make some noise”.

The church must not be silent.

Believers… let’s make some noise.  “Quiet Time”, in the church needs to be over!

There are five basic sounds (noise) that need to be in the church.  First… prayer.  Jesus said it, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.”  So; what does prayer sound like in the church?  In New Testament terminology; prayer in the church is:
– continual prayer
– prayer without ceasing
– continuing instant in prayer
– prayer one for another
– thanksgiving prayer
– the prayer of faith that saves the sick
– prayer for the forgiveness of sin
– calling on the name of the Lord prayer
– effectual fervent prayer
– intercessory prayer
– mountain-moving prayer
– praying in secret
– praying in public
– prayers that cast out demons
– harvest prayers
– prayer for souls
– revival prayer
– praying in the Spirit
– prayer with understanding
– prayer for signs and wonders in the name of Jesus
– prayer for boldness
– prayer for wisdom
-prayer for knowledge
-prayer for understanding
– men praying everywhere… lifting up holy hands

“Quiet Time” in the church needs to be over!  We don’t need less prayer… we need more prayer.  We don’t need fewer prayer meetings… we need more prayer meetings.  It’s time to make some noise in the church!

The church was born in a prayer meeting.  Acts 1:1-14, Acts 2:1-8

Look at Acts 2:6 again; “now when this was noised aboard”.  The prayer meeting turned into an outpouring which could not be contained inside four walls.  It developed into a massive revival and baptismal event.  (Acts 2:37-47)

In Acts 12 it is recorded that Peter was in prison, but the church prayed earnestly and without ceasing for him. An angel showed up to release Peter from prison (without bail).  What had looked like a death sentence turned into a brand new beginning.

We still believe that when the church makes some noise …. prays: angels show up, deliverance comes to the captives, the Lord shows up, and what looks like the end can become a brand new beginning.

(coming next … Part Three … Another sound that needs to be heard in the church)
