“Quiet Time Needs To Be Over – Part 6”

He (Jesus) entered into Capernaum after some days; it was noised that He (Jesus) was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door; and He preached the word unto them. Mark 2:1-2

It was noised that Jesus was in the house. Somebody got the word out … Jesus is in the house. Somebody told somebody else … Jesus is in the house. Of all the methods and strategies of evangelism; the best is still “make some noise”.

The church must not be silent.

Believers… let’s make some noise. “Quiet Time”, in the church needs to be over!

There are five basic sounds (noises) that need to be in the church. First… prayer. Jesus said it, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.”
The second “sound” that must be heard in the church is the “sound” of preaching. Jesus did not say go into all the world and build buildings, develop social fellowships, sing, distribute “witness wear” T-shirts, etc.

He did say, “go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The third “noise” that needs to be heard in the church is that of praise and worship. Sincere, from the heart of thanksgiving praise! May prayer, preaching, and praise be unrestricted in the church!

The fourth “noise” that needs to be heard in the church is that of the sound of testimonies.  Somebody has to testify!

The fifth “noise” that needs to be heard in the church is conversions:
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.  Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.  When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.  And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.  And all the men were about twelve.  And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.  But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.  And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.  And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. (conversions)  Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.  So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
Acts 19:1-11, 18-20

In regards to conversions… “Quiet Time” needs to be over!
The church must always hear the “noise” of conversions!
What does the noise of conversions sound like in the church?
It sounds like repentance; people confessing their sin and asking God to forgive them
If this sound is not heard; then it’s not God’s church being observed.

What I mean by this is: in some venues of “Christianity” people are being persuaded by false preachers that they are not sinners; therefore there is no need to confess and ask for forgiveness. But in the true church of the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance of one’s sin is still being preached. Sin is still being named according to the scriptures.

Real conversion can only take place through repentance of sin.
The church must always hear the “noise” of water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.We need this “noise” …. repentant people saying, “take me to the water.”

We need to hear the name of Jesus Christ being spoken over those being baptized and we need to hear them calling upon the name of Jesus.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. Acts 19:5-6

We need to hear the sound of conversions …. people being filled with the Holy Ghost and speaking with tongues and prophesying.

And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:4

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.  And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.  For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,  Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?  And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Acts 10: 44-48

We must hear the “noise” of conversions.

Jesus said it …. Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
John 3:5-8

This church was established by our Lord Jesus Christ and He gave this promise regarding the church:

“I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Matthew 16:18

Until He comes again there will be, in His church, the “noise” of conversions.

I’m thankful for the “noise” of conversions.

I don’t want to be in a quiet church …….  I want to be involved in a church that believes ….

“Quiet Time” needs to be over!

In the church, we need to hear prayer!

In the church, we need to hear preaching…..

In the church, we need to hear praise and worship!

In the church, we need to hear testimonies!

In the church, we need to hear the sound of conversions!
